Cletus Bed & Breakfast is located in an agricultural farm that produces Garda D.O.P. (Denomination of Protected Origin) Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The oil is made exclusively by pressing the olives produced on the lands next to the house, a few dozen meters from the Brescia side of Lake Garda.
Garda D.O.P. extra virgin Olive Oil tastes naturally sweet and delicate, and is recognizable by the harmony of its light and balanced flavours: the scents of fresh grass, herbs, hay and artichoke, combined with its characteristic almond aftertaste, make it totally unique.
Consumer Garda D.O.P. Extra Virgin Olive Oil has the following characteristics:
– A reasonably intense green/ yellow colour
– A light and fruity smell
– A fruity flavour
The olive trees that produce the extra virgin olive oil are the most northerly oil-producing olive trees in the world. This is because Lake Garda, at the foot of the Alps, creates a Mediterranean microclimate. This makes the flavours of Cletus oil unique and unmistakable, and although it is a delicate oil, it lends itself to many dishes.
Every year in mid-June, the Garda D.O.P. Extra Virgin Olive Oil goes on display in San Felice during one of the most important regional events of the oil sector: OLEA. The town of San Felice del Benaco, in collaboration with The D.O.P. Garda Oil Consortium had promoted our product at this event for over ten years, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the region.
